Yes, you can follow the instructions blow to convert Microsoft Word traditional Chinese document to simplified with format preserved.
- Save the original traditional Chinese document as "Rich Text Format" RTF file;
- Star NJStar Communicator's "Universal Code Convertor";
- Click on "Text in Files(s)" radio button and select the RTF file in step1;
- Select "Unicode RTF" from the left and right windows, and check "Simplified Chinese" in the middle, then click "Convert Files>>".
You can do the same to convert simplified Chinese document to traditional one.

Yes, you can modify (add/delete) the pronunciation look-up of any character:
- Choose "Phrase Manager" from the input-method button on Chinese input_bar;
- Click the "Pinyin..." button from the pop-up screen;
- Enter the Chinese character in "Hanzi:" field; then Pinyin with tone such as "xue3" (for blood) in the field of "Pinyin:"
- Click the "Add" button.

In Chinese IME, how can I type Chinese and get Japanese output?
|
|
To input Japanese Kana (Hiragana, Katakana) or Kanji, you normally use Japanese IME. However, for people who know ONLY Chinese IME and/or for those who do not know Japanese-Romaji method, NJStar Communicator allows you to use Chinese IME to input Japanese Kana/Kanji as well!
- Input Kanji (日 語 漢 字): Use Chinese IME to input Japanese Kanji is really easy - you only have to select Japanese (Shift-JIS/EUC-JIS) as output code from the right-most button on the Chinese IME bar, and then type the normal "Chinese" character(s) with your favorite Chinese input method!
- Input Hiragana/Katakana: Open up "Symbols Input" method (shortcut is "Alt+6") table, choose "Hiragana" or "Katakana" from the right window, then use mouse to select! Also make sure that you choose Japanese (Shift-JIS/EUC-JIS) as your output code.

In Pinyin input method, you can type the 4 tones with "Alt+1", "Alt+2", "Alt+3", "Alt+4". For example:
- 東(dong1) -- Pinyin is "dong" + "Alt+1" (1st Tone)
- 鵬(peng2) -- Pinyin is "peng" + "Alt+2" (2nd Tone)
- 懂(dong3) -- Pinyin is "dong" + "Alt+3" (3rd Tone)
- 痛(tong4) -- Pinyin is "tong" + "Alt+4" (4th Tone)

In Chinese IME, how to create new phrase? (用 戶 造 詞 )

南 極 星 “ 全 球 通 ” 帶 有 極 方 便 的 用 戶 造 詞 功 能 ﹕
- 例 如 ﹐ 打 拼 音 “ 造 詞 ” 兩 字 (zaoci), 然 後 按 “ SPACE ” 鍵 ﹐ 即 進 入 自 動 造 詞 。 下 次 打 zaoci時 ﹐ 將 會 自 動 出 來 。
- 另 一 種 方 法 是 使 用 "Dictionary Manager" (Alt+8) 加 入 新 詞 。 使 用 "Dictionary Manager" 你 還 可 以 從 一 個 文 件 (file) 中 一 次 性 加 入 多 個 新 詞 。

- Type "phrase" whenever possible ( 能 “ 輸 詞 組” 就 不 要 “ 輸 字”):

- Use "Recent Words" Recall (Shift+Space) to repeat recent input ( 最 近 用 詞 回 憶 ):
