HOWTO: Fix Internet Explorer (IE) 8 Crash on Windows Vista or Windows 7
If the latest version of NJStar Communicator has been installed, IE8 should be running normally. But some users have reported that IE8 crashes under certain conditions on Windows Vista or 7. We have identfied one of such cases.
If Microsoft Java VM (msjvm.dll) is installed and Windows' Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is enabled, IE 8 will crash when NJStar Communicator is running. To prevent IE8 crash, we have to either (A) Remove Microsoft Java VM, or (B) Disable Windows DEP.
HOWTO: Display MP3 Chinese GB/Big5 Song Titles in iPhone/iPod and Sony PSP
On Windows, NJStar Communicator can help you view the GB/Big5 Chinese Music/Song Titles in iTune or Explorer. But when the music is synced to iPod/iPhone, the Chinese titls can not be displayed correctly. This is because that Apple's iPod or iPhone requires the MP3 ID Tags to be encoded in Unicode. The current known solution is to convert the MP3 file's ID Tag from GB/Big5 to Unicode before sync to teh device.
For iPhone or iPod
With the release of NJStar Communicator v2.75, it is very easy to correct the DBCS song titles directly in iTune. Here are the 4 easy steps:
- Change NJStar communicator viewer code settings (eg GB, Big5) so the unreadable title can be viewed correctly in iTune;
- Click the title and let it go into editing mode, highlight all the text, do a copy (Ctrl+C) and then Paste (Ctrl+V);
- Click somewhere else to end the editing - That's it, the DBCS title has been converted to Unicode;
- Now sync with your iPod or iPhone, the Chinese song titles should be displayed correctly.
For Sony PSP or other MP3 Players
First, please download and install the Free MP3 Tag Editor here: www.mp3tag.de/en/download.html ,
then use the follwing steps to convert GB/Big5 Chinese text to Unicode.
1. Change NJStar communicator viewer code settings (eg GB, Big5) so the unreadable title can be viewed correctly in iTune;
2. In MP3 Tag editor , click the song from the list on the right with title/artist name coded in GB/Big5;
3. Copy the Title/Artist name text in left editing box;
4. Paste back the text, the Chinese text will be in Unicode;
5. Save the editing in MP3 Tag Editor, then copy the Music/Song file into your Sony PSP or MP3 Player.

Norton 360 tries to provide you with 360 degrees of protection. It means that Norton 360 wants to protect everything. This has caused lots of software not to function correctly, including NJStar Communicator and Chinese Pen. In order for NJStar to input Chinese, Japanese or Korean text into any windows, NJStar HAS to hook the keyboard. But norton thinks it is a key logger, so NJStar IME and Pen are blocked by default.
To enable the proper use of NJStar Communicator and Chinese Pen when Norton 360 is installed, please goto Norton 360's Eavesdropping Protection Settings page, and Unblock/Allow all NJStar related files, such as
- InputEasy.dll for NJStar Chinese Pen.
- NJSIME.exe for NJStar Chinese Input in NJStar Communicator.
- NJJIME.exe for NJStar Japanese Input in NJStar Communicator.
- NJKIME.exe for NJStar Korean Input in NJStar Communicator.

Microsoft Word 2000 (English) has Wrapping Problem with Chinese/ Japanese text line
On an English or western Windows, It's known that Microsoft Word 2000 (English/Western versions) can not wrap a Chinese/Japanaese/Korean (CJK) line correctly when there are spaces in the middle. Word 2000 treats a CJK line as normal English line and insists finding a 'SPACE' to break the line. For example, the following line will be breaked between word 'two' and 'three'
这行中文里面夹有几个英文one two three南极星这行中文里面夹有几个英文这行中文里面夹有几个英文这行中文里面夹有几个英文.
and becomes:
这行中文里面夹有几个英文one two
three南极星这行中文里面夹有几个英文这行中文里面夹有几个英文这行中文里面夹有几个英文.
Solutions:
